What would entice you to attend a book fair?  Please answer a few questions.

Before I started in this business, a friend of mine told me about some book events he attended.  I never felt compelled to attend the events because I didn't feel that they were geared to the readers, or that they were not a valuable resource for upcoming writers.  I have often wondered how others feel about attending book fairs, and the larger book events, such as Bouchercon, Thrillerfest, Left Coast Crime, Sleuthfest, Killer Nashville, and so many others I can't list them all here.  

If you are visiting this blog page, I would appreciate your comments on the following questions.

What do you know about book fairs?
Have you attended any of these events, and if so, were you glad you did?  What did you get out of the event?
If you have never attended a book fair, WHAT would entice you to do so?
Are you interested in meeting the authors of your favorite books?
